Summary

"Youth, Sustainable Communities and Networks" is a short project (35 days) that invites 10 young volunteers from the UK, Italy, the Netherlands and Germany to participate in a unique and unrepeatable experience in the eco-village Los Portales, in Andalusia (southern Spain).

Through this project the young people will participate in the organisation and development of the 21st Meeting of the Iberian Eco-village Network (RIE), an annual event that brings together more than 500 people related to the eco-village movement, that will take place in June 2018. It is a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of eco-villages, which are a fascinating model of ecological, economic, social and cultural sustainability.

Un nuevo curso, una nueva oportunidad de dar a conocer esta herramienta importante, no sólo por su utilidad y eficacia en la salud, bienestar, etc., sino porque nos ayuda a tener otras "gafas" desde donde ver, entender y compartir nuestra vida y la de los demás; una nueva posibilidad de comprender lo que ocurre y nos ocurre, una nueva manera de percibir las condiciones que permanentemente tenemos a nuestro lado para experimentar y agradecer la alegría y la felicidad!!!!

Meeting between the Universities of Bochum (Germany) and Seville with Los Portales

We have just concluded a meeting between the Universities of Bochum (Germany) and Seville with Los Portales, where we have reflected and worked on the need to establish bridges between eco-villages, organic producers, consumers and the academic world, to create networks, generate research, raise awareness and communicate more about fair trade and ecological and eco-responsible production. With the invaluable participation of the professors Dr. Petra Schweizer-Ries, from the University of Bochum, and María Itziar Aguirre Jiménez, from the University of Seville, who were accompanied by five of their students, we have laid the foundations for future collaboration and development projects. A very enriching exchange for everyone !
